How to take and submit your meter reading

Pay as much as you use 

Submit your meter reading and receive natural gas bills for your actual consumption. You can submit meter readings during the last five days of the month, using the different options available for submission that are presented below. 

Submission of meter readings via the My GEN-I portal

This procedure is fast and simple. Enter your meter reading in the form, select the date of the reading and confirm it. You can also activate free SMS notifications that will remind you each month of the deadline for the submission of meter readings. You can also monitor your previous consumption on the portal.

Submission of meter readings via SMS



During the meter reading process, you can submit meter readings in the quickest way directly from your mobile phone. Send us an SMS with the current meter reading to phone number +386 (0)30 200 111.  

Include the following in your SMS:

  • the keyword READING;
  • the designation ‘NG’;
  • the metering point number (indicated on the top part of the second page of the natural gas bill); and
  • the current meter reading.

 

You will be charged for the sent SMS by your mobile service operator in accordance with your package and the operator’s applicable pricelist. Upon successful submission of a meter reading, we will send you a free SMS message for confirmation. The 030 200 111 phone number is only intended for the receipt of SMS messages with meter readings.

There are multiple ways to submit meter readings: 

  • the simplest way is to submit meter readings via the My GEN-I portal. Open an account and begin to use the many advantages of digital business, such as the prompt submission of meter readings, a better overview of consumption, and simple and quick communication with GEN-I; and
  • the second option is to submit meter readings to the +386 (0)30 200 111 number via SMS messages. For more detailed instructions watch the video above.

The natural gas bill will be issued for estimated consumption (lump sum), and an account reconciliation will be performed with the next submitted meter reading. We suggest you activate the receipt of SMS notifications for the submission of meter readings on the My GEN-I portal, which reminds you each month of the deadline for the submission of meter readings.

The gas meter only displays a single numeric field, which indicates natural gas consumption in cubic meters (m3). The numeric field displays a series of eight numbers, where the last three numbers are decimals. Only the first five numbers need to be given during the meter reading process.
